Gender Equality & Child Protection

Objective

Reduce gender-based violence (GBV) and protect girls from harmful practices.

Key Activities

  • Organize community discussions and awareness campaigns on GBV prevention, girls' education, and child protection, involving men, women, young people, and persons with disabilities.
  • Increase awareness of available protection services and help reduce stigma faced by survivors of violence and abuse.
  • Develop and distribute information and educational materials, including posters, radio messages, and digital content, to promote positive social norms and child protection.
  • Train community volunteers, peer educators, and local leaders to raise awareness, challenge harmful practices, and promote positive behaviour within communities.
  • Establish and strengthen school committees that monitor student attendance, identify girls at risk of dropping out, and provide support to keep them in school.
  • Provide scholarships, school materials, and financial support to vulnerable girls so they can continue their education.
  • Engage parents, guardians, and community leaders in promoting the importance of girls' education and preventing harmful practices such as child marriage.
  • Create safe spaces and mentorship programs that provide guidance, emotional support, and protection for girls in schools and communities.
