Who We Are
Who We Are
The Samuel & Margaret Sitta Foundation (SMSF) was established in 2020 by Founder Trustee Margaret Simwanza Sitta, with support from other trustees from the Sitta family. The Foundation was created out of a desire to serve and support people in need, especially young people, vulnerable individuals, and marginalized communities across Tanzania. From the beginning, the Foundation has believed that development should be inclusive, fair, and respectful of every person's dignity.
The Foundation works as a non-governmental, non-religious, and non-political organization. Its main goal is to improve the lives of people who face social and economic challenges and are at risk of being left behind. The Foundation promotes social justice and equal opportunities for all.
To achieve this goal, the Foundation focuses on several key areas. These include raising awareness about health issues and encouraging early health screening, increasing access to education, promoting youth leadership and civic participation, and supporting gender equality and child protection. The Foundation also gives special attention to people with disabilities by helping them access services, develop skills, and participate fully in society.
The Foundation is based in Masaki, Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es Salaam, and plans to establish branches in other parts of Tanzania so that it can reach and support more communities across the country.
